A WARM WIND IS BLOWING

The Chinook

The chinook recurve has that 50s style with modern performance.  We generally like to talk smoothness, quietness and low hand shock. All features the chinook possess along with high arrow speeds. Offered in 58 and 60 inch lengths it easily performs for archers up to a 30" draw.

Order the chinook in one piece or a take down featuring the BowBolt TD ststem.
Available in our "standard" grip or "classic" grip with a leather wrap, either shaped to fit your hand and shooting style.

Shooters who already own a Toelke bow will find little or no point of aim change when switching between our models in the same grip configuration(standard to standard or classic to classic).

Whip longbow for target

We are hearing from more and more of our customers who are shooting the Whip for target/competition, Especially the 66" model. This isn't a surprise as the whip is easy to shoot well and forgives a lot of shooter error. Many of these customers are shooting bows similar to the Whip we just added to our inventory longbows. A 66" mid thirties draw with a Linen Micarta riser to add mass.

The Pika Wow

Our designs all have a little WOW factor when an experienced archer tries it for their first time.
Many of our bows derive this from the silence that comes after the shot, or the smoothness in the hand.  A smooth draw that offers ease and comfort shot after shot. Forgiveness of small shooter errors and comfortable grip that places the hand where it needs to be.
The Pika puts these factors into a 54" or 56" package that is wildly handy in the field.

STANDARD GRIP VS CLASSIC

We would like to take a moment to explain our two general grip choices. Of course within these choices custom options can be requested and sending us a hand tracing is always a good idea.

Our "standard" grip is a rather complex grip designed to place your hand where it should be with little thought on your part. The standard features a thumb locator and is generally shot bare(no leather or rubber). It is our first recommendation and is preferred by the majority of our customers.

The "Classic" grip is generally chosen by those who have shot lower/straiter grips and have grown accustom to that feel. Our Classic has no thumb locator and typically features a leather wrap. Many find our Classic grip more complex than other bowyers offerings and easily achieve proper hand placement.

Inventory

We are always taking custom orders and hold a short lead time.  However we also understand that some of our customers like to see it before they buy. Others want a bow right now and with paypal purchases we can just about make that happen as most bows are shipped within 24hours of payment.

June coming to an end

Whats going on at Toelke Traditional Archery?

We are pressing standard length Whips almost daily, along with lots of Pika's and Chinook's.

We will be doing a run of 66" Whips in early July if anyone has a long Whip in mind.

If your looking for a new hunting bow it would be best to get it going by early July, many of us will be bow hunting in just a couple months!

We hope you are all enjoying your summer and keeping those bow skills in tune!

Bow bolt take down

The Bow Bolt continues to gain popularity, now being installed in over 40% of our bows.
It offers a two piece option in most of our popular one piece models.
Aside from a few ounces of mass weight the bow differs little form a one piece.
We install it in a linen Micarta riser for maximum strength and durability.
As shown the Bow Bolt provides a barely noticeable seam and very quick connection.

Installing the bolt in the riser and building the bow around it ensures perfect alignment.

The whip is often on a scoreboard as it boast a smooth draw, and virtually no hand shock. Our fully shaped sight windows and unique grip prevent your small mistakes from showing on target.

If your looking for a target bow give us a call or email, we can help direct you to the bow and length that will best fit your needs and shooting style.

Pika

Less than two years from its interdiction there are already Pika's covering the states and a few around the globe. This is a very short  longbow (54" & 56") that draws smooth and performs.
Something were hearing from many of our customers is that they never knew a short bow could be that easy to shoot and shoot so good! Hearing some say they will be taking them to 3D shoots this year because they are shooting them so well. If your looking for a compact bow you better give the pika a try.

Choosing limb veneers

Choosing a face veneer can be tough. Within the many wood types there are so many variations of color and grain pattern. We keep a lot of great veneer wood in stock and have many sets cut and ready to go. The best advice I can give is for you to tell us what your thinking as far as color and grain. We can then go immediately to our veneer selection and find the set that best fulfills your wishes.
Wood darkens considerably in the bow, building thousands of bows we have a pretty good idea of what a piece of wood will look like in the bow. We wont disappoint, call or email us and describe your "dream bow" and we will put it in your hand.

Bow Bolt Take Down System

In the last four years we have went from building less than 25% bow bolt bows
(VS one piece bows) to around 50%.  A nearly seamless joint allows us to make a take down that feels just like your one piece only weighing a few ounces more. Enjoyed by those who travel, back pack or are just looking to save space the bow bolt is a fast easy to use system.

We install the bolt in the riser first then build the bow around it to ensure perfect alignment and the tightest joint.

Spring is coming

Believe it or not it is true, Spring will soon be here bringing sunny days of roving, 3D shoots, turkey and spring bear hunting.

In the spring we often see an increase in orders of very short and very long light bows.

Top picks for spring hunting are our Pika and our shorter recurve models with many taking to ground blinds.

For target many find our longer Whip's to be forgiving and easy to shoot, remember we build them as long as 66"! Target shooters looking at recurves remember we offer a 64" static tip recurve that provides a smooth steady design with no finger pinch  for a smooth release.
