Pika grip compared with Whip
We are hearing a lot of talk about the grip on the pika and thought we would help clarify as best we can.
The Pika grip(top bow) is slightly shallower from the saddle to the back of the bow. Compared to a standard height Whip the Pika has a slight bit more angle to the grip. The back of the bow also has a bit more angle to it where the fingers lay. We feel this grip aids in the shootability of the Pika.
As seen on this picture both bows are very similar in the way they set your hand. Both put your hand in the same position and do so with very little to no thought from the shooter. A huge bonus for those who already shoot our bows is that going from a standard Whip to a standard Pika usually causes no point of impact change.

Nearing the end of 2015
Orders placed now(Nov. 30) will most likely ship after Christmas so if you are looking to have a new bow in the new year place your order now. For those wanting a new bow before Christmas we have stocked our inventory in preparation. Keep in mind it is not best to ship during the week before Christmas. We hope you have a great month and remember when things get stressful, its time for a shooting break!

Seven Months for the Pika
Just over seven months ago we introduced a new design that has set a new standard in short longbows. The "Pika" is not only short and smooth to long draw but it is incredibly shootable. Many customers are claiming this short little bow will shoot with any of their longer R/D bows! Soon after its introduction in April it became and remains our #2 seller only bested by our world renowned Whip longbow. Call or email us today to get on the track to having your own custom Pika.

HS limb defined
The HS mark is applied to the Whip lengths 58" through 64". HS(high speed) is used to describe our Longbow limb that has been taken to maximum reflex/deflex without sacrificing stability, smoothness or quietness. Our other lengths/models(66" Whip and 54"-56" Pika) are designed to this perfect balance we call HS though they are not marked HS as they have not been changed from the original design.
Again All our new longbows are what we consider HS weather marked HS or not.
I hope this clarifies any confusion.

Two under shooting method
For those interested in shooting short bows we highly recommend trying our two under release shooting method. Instructions on this style are included in our two under tab kit(accessories page).
The Dan Toelke two under method removes the problem causing top finger from the string, This reduces finger pinch, improves release, allowing a tighter anchor and giving better peripheral arrow alignment. We feel it is a improvement when shooting any length bow but makes a even larger difference when shooting short bows.
This shooting style my not be for everyone but we have found it beneficial to a large majority of archers.
Happy shooting, Dan and Jared Toelke

Inside Toelke Traditional Archery
We Press our bows in custom made pneumatic presses fitted with blocks we design and build in house. Each bow is laminated under extreme air pressure totaling over 10,000 pounds of weight, this ensures seamless lines and the best glue bond. Our presses are also heated, heat helps the epoxy penetrate the veneers for a better bond. Curing this epoxy under heat also makes the bow more tolerable the high temperatures a shooter may experience in places like Africa.
We feel this is the best way to ensure a perfect billet every time.
Just one more reason to make us YOUR Bowyer.

54" PIKA
We had a customer inquire about a pika, he draws 27" and ask since he did not need all the draw length the 56" offered, would we do a 54"?
Our answer? WHY NOT! So we built one and it is great at this length and could be used by anyone drawing 28 1/2" or less. It is now an option to all customers looking to have a Pika built.
Also the pika can be done in a classic grip, I will picture one and put it on the site next week.
